Drecht Cities Young Professionals – DCYP for short – is a program initiated by the Economic Development Board and regional companies. The goal is to attract and maintain young capital for the Drecht Cities region, by connecting over 4.000 young professionals.

Challenges and Events
Young talent provide innovative solutions for challenges within eight working days. The team is guided by a business owner and a project coach. Some examples:
Explore
Stroomlijn challenge
What is the potential of the Wijkhoppers? Which other groups of people can use these sustainable vehicles in the future? The challenge was about finding a solution for the optimal use of the Wijkhoppers. The key to the solution is to provide customized services for each target group.
Aquaculture 2050
Subject of this challenge was circular offshore fish farming. The team focused on the energy use of the Aquabarge and designed a model with which Heerema can calculate the best location for this barge.
Stretching the Future
The current stretch forming facility of GKN Fokker in Papendrecht is reaching its limits. An ambitious team of eleven young professionals joined forces to make a design for the stretch forming facility in Virtual Reality.
Clean Rib Challenge
Young professionals from Veth Propulsion, Iv-Groep, Oceanco, Koedood and TU Delft participated in the Clean Rib challenge by TeamNL Sailing. The result? A sustainable design for a hydrogen-powered coaching boat for top-level international sailing (and other markets).

Drecht Cities Experience 2019
We challenged our CEO's to answer all of our questions, visited the Royal IHC yard in Krimpen aan den IJssel and we finished the day at the rooftop of the Bolidt Innovation Center.

Cyber Day
Cyber Day was a one day challenge at the Sustainability Factory in Dordrecht. 30 Young Professionals came together to learn about the subject from professionals and victims, and to brainstorm about solutions.
